An estimated 20% of women in prison have spent some time in care. Until recently, criminal behavior has been mostly discussed from a male perspective and has been about men, for men and by men. Various theories have shown why some women commit fewer crimes than males. Lombroso believed that women were evolutionarily inferior to men, a lower form of life. He hypothesized that the natural female criminal was perceived to have the criminal qualities of the male plus the worstcharacteristics of women. This appeared to indicate that criminal women were genetically more male than female, therefore biologically abnormal. Freud (1925) offered an explanation of female crime that, women are universally not able to fully resolve the Oedipus complex, have a great deal of need for the approval of men, so as a rule they do not risk upsetting them by committing crimes. The exceptional female who does offend is seen as suffering from extreme penis envy and, in a desire to be a man, takes an aggressive, non-conforming attitude that may result in criminal behavior. In addition, scientists have suggested that the brain differences between male and female is an essential reason why women are more likely to stay out of harms way. Current research has demonstrated that females, on average, have a larger deep limbic system than males. Due to this, women are more in touch with their feelings; they have anincreased ability to bond and are connected to others. Furthermore, some criminologists argue that women seldom have the opportunity to be involved in organised and corporate crime of which many men are guilty but not convicted. In terms of the ratio of conviction between females and males, where women have similar opportunities for criminal behavior in relation to males, their respective patterns of crimes appear to be broadly similar. However, while, in theory, women have similar opportunities as men to commit crime these may be limited by other factors. Such as employment related crime, as fewer women than men work, less opportunity exists. Women are also more-likely than men to have primary responsibility for child-care, which restricts opportunities for various types of criminal behavior. Female crime is often explained as womens usual response to lack of opportunity and school failure. It is as a desperate attempt to escape from poverty rather than, as in the case of many men, an aggressive response to their social situation. Courts may deal more-leniently with females, but when women commit crimes that go against male stereotypes of femininity, such as violence, women tend to be more harshly punished than men. As much female crime is petty, non-violent, like shop-lifting andprostitution, women not imprisoned as often as men. Moreover, female forms of crime may be less visible to the police. This is especially true in relation to crimes of violence, where women tend to be the victims rather than the perpetrators. A rather different approach to the issue of gender and crime is societys concept ofmasculinity that leads to criminal behavior in boys and men. To be masculine means to assert authority and control over others, to be individualistic, aggressive and independent. You do not necessarily have to pay closing costs out of your pocket. There are loan packages available for people that are not able to pay closing costs out of their own pocket. What these packages basically do is inflate the purchase price of the house by the amount of the closing costs and then have the seller pay the closing costs for the buyer with those extra funds. So, for example, if the purchase price of the house is $100,000 and closing costs were calculated to be $4,500 the contract would read that the sale price is $104,500 and would include language that the seller is to pay $4,500 worth of closing costs for the buyer. The seller still gets the $100,000 for the home and the additional amount that was financed goes towards the purchasers closing costs. Different states have different rules on how the language must read and what closing costs can and cannot be paid by the seller. You will want to make sure you have a full understanding of this process and how this will work under you specific circumstances. Believe it or not, there are loan packages available that combine both of these examples - no money down and no money for closing costs. The property will need to appraise at a specified amount in order to qualify but the key is understanding that this very much can be done. It can turn a renter into a homeowner with nothing out of pocket and perhaps even a reduced monthly payment. Mortgage payments can be at or below rent payments depending on the home you pick. If youre not living your dream, youre living someone elses dream. Look at a normal life for the average person today. You get up earlier than you really want to because the alarm goes off. Now, it’s about working, providing for a family, and maybe, someday, you’ll have some time for you. If youre working for someone else, chances are youre working on someone elses dream. Now heres the amazing part. The owner of the company might never have purposely chosen the course of his business, so its not even his dream. Get a few friends together and each work on the project individually. Each person will create a collage of his or her life today on one side of the poster board. Assemble a dream collage on the other side of the poster board that will show your life five years from now. Technique Three: Talk to your friends. Chances are your friends, family and business colleagues know things about you that you dont even know. We tend to look at ourselves through the eyes of others who have been critical of things weve done. Have you ever noticed how you remember the one bad comment you got about something you did and cant for the life of you remember the dozen good comments you received? Were conditioned to look for the fault in ourselves. That helps us find the things we need to improve on, but it also means that we overlook the things we do well.
